From the early days back in 1915 as a magazine publisher for Everybodys Press in the farmland of Hanover, Pennsylvania, Sheridan has grown into a respected print and electronic content provider to the scholarly journal, specialty magazine, short- to medium-run book and direct mail catalog publishing industries.
In 1967, Champ Sheridan purchased the company and later changed the name of the company to The Sheridan Press. His vision refocused the efforts of the company to become a leading provider of printing services to publishers of scientific, technical, medical and scholarly journal community. Starting in the late 1980s, acquisitions expanded the business into book printing and required the formation of The Sheridan Group, a holding company.
By 1998, The Sheridan Group added several journal, book and magazine printing companies further reinforcing our position in those segments of the publishing industry.
In 2002, Sheridan established a separate company to market their growing front-end journal production services.
Sheridan PA, Sheridan NH, and Sheridan Journal Services serve the scientific, technical, medical, and scholarly journal community. Sheridan NH and Sheridan PA produce high quality trade, regional, association, and special interest magazines. Sheridan MI is a premier service provider to the book market while Sheridan NH also produces short-run catalogs.
To this day each of our companies is independently managed, allowing each organization to best serve the publishers of their specialty market and to focus its efforts on creating products, services and workflows that benefit those specific customers.
